Policing in Conception Bay, 1836 3 Constables at Carbonear Port de Grave, 1844 On April 26, 1844, William ANDREWS, planter, of Port de Grave, was granted £10 sterling by the Legislature for relief in consideration of his age and length of service. He was 84 years of age and had served as Constable at Port de Grave for 43 years. Policing in Conception Bay, 1858 7 Constables at Harbour Grace Magistrates were at Brigus and Port de Grave, Harbour Grace, and Carbonear. Gaolers were at Harbour Grace, and Brigus and Port de Grave.
